Interpersonal Counselling (IPC) Course
This accessible two-day training is perfect for anyone—regardless of clinical experience—interested in supporting individuals experiencing distress or mild depression. IPC is delivered over 4-6 weekly sessions and is suitable for both adolescents and adults.
Following the training, participants can apply their skills through supervised case work with two clients.

IPC is an adaptation of IPT with three main differences: the treatment duration is shorter (3-6 sessions); it is designed for clients with mild depression; or distress and it can be delivered by mental health as well as by non-mental health professionals after participation in a brief (two day) training course.

Who: The training will be facilitated by Dr Elizabeth Robinson, IPT trainer and supervisor and by Viktoria Cestaro CPsychol, IPT trainer and supervisor and co-developer of IPC for Adolescents.

The training consists of mixture of didactic teaching, demonstrations of relevant competencies via roleplay, video materials as well as discussions in the breakup groups. During this training you will learn all the strategies relevant to delivery of IPC and you will have an opportunity to see some examples as well as opportunity to practice these strategies.
There will be an opportunity for supervision of IPC casework after the training, for more information contact Viktoria at [email protected]. Please note there is an additional cost associated with this.
