TRAINING DETAILS: Introductory training course for Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT Level A course) Level A – Introductory course in IPT This is a 5-day initial introduction to IPT course (Level A) with 6th day training approximately 3 months later to help build skills after casework has started. The course:
covers the theoretical background to IPT
introduces the model with numerous case examples, demonstrations, and role play to learn and develop clinical skills.
A brief overview of the research evidence for IPT as an intervention for depression is presented in addition to modifications of IPT for other disorders. Training places are deliberately kept to small numbers to optimise the opportunity for participants to develop clinical skills in IPT throughout the course using role play, video examples and case discussions. There will be an opportunity for further training after the course to work towards practitioner accreditation (Level B) using group/individual supervised practice.
Level B - Supervised casework leading to IPT Practitioner accreditation This involves completing four IPT cases whilst receiving supervision from an IPT supervisor. Three sessions per case and a case report are formally reviewed as part of your final portfolio submission for practitioner accreditation.

This was my first interactive online course and I have really enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed the experience; it was informative and kept me engaged throughout the duration.
I enjoyed the online course; it was helpful to be able to do from home.
Amazing, kept me interested the whole time which considering online was brilliant.
I found it very accessible and preferred to going away for five days on a residential course. Very transferable to online.
Very good, and less tiring than other online courses. Good pace and content.
Comments on training:
I liked the way Liz and Catherine connected and formed relationships with us all. The role-plays were amazing.
The structure of the days on the balance between group activities, videos were great.
I think the friendliness of Liz and her ability to flow through the subjects is really engaging and the time went quickly. I also really like the breakout rooms to talk to others in the group and share ideas. Even that was online the whole experience felt personal which has been an insightful experience to me.
It was clear and concise, just enough time of study. Not too long nor too short.
Liz made the subject come alive.
The course tutor was excellent and provided useful information and examples of IPT therapy.
Elizabeth and Catherine’s enthusiasm and expertise of IPT was the highlight and strength of the course this was very much valued and appreciated.
