The Lonely and Depressed Client: How might IPT help? Date: 19th August 2020 Time: 7pm - 8:15pm Details: A reflective space for attendees to begin to explore how IPT can help a client whose depression and loneliness may be underpinned by an intrapersonal deficit. The event will be facilitated by guest speaker, Dr Stephen Ferris, and hosted by IPT West Midlands. Adolescent Depression: IPT Training Moving from adults to adolescents: how to use IPT with adolescents and in a family context Date: 3rd - 4th September 2020 Time: 9:15am - 5:00pm Details: There are fully funded places available for colleagues employed in adult IAPT services that now accept referrals from 16+ across London and South East. This course is jointly delivered by Roslyn Law and a young person who has lived, professional experience of mental health care for young people. Preventing Adolescent Depression: Interpersonal Psychotherapy - Adolescent Skills Training Date: 19th October 2020 – 22nd October 2020 (online) Time: 1:00 - 5:00pm Details: There are fully funded places available for accredited IPT-A therapists who have potential to deliver an IPT-AST group in their current work setting. Mentalization Skills in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) Date: 13th November 2020 (online) Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm Details: Mentalizing – attending to mental states in oneself and others in order to understand intention and behaviour – has been described as “the most fundamental common factor among psychotherapeutic techniques”. This workshop, delivered jointly by Roslyn Law and Professor Peter Fonagy, is aimed at IPT practitioners and supervisors with an interest in exploring and consolidating their use of Mentalization techniques.
