IPT UK interim Executive Committee changes: Due to the limited response to the call for nominations for IPT UK executive positions, we do not have nominees for several executive posts. There were no (accepted) nominations for the role of chair, deputy chair of IPT UK, treasurer, or deputy treasurer of IPT UK. This places the future of IPT UK on unstable ground, and as an IPT community we will need to work together to ensure we have adequate engagement from our membership to enable us to continue as an organisation.
Consequently, the existing IPT UK Executive Committee are proposing an interim arrangement for the next nine months. This is intended to give the organisation time to review the options and work with the membership to consider who might be the next IPT UK election candidates. Work during this interim period will be targeted at broadening and supporting involvement from IPT UK members including the development of mentoring groups and a national CPD committee with support from regional leads.
The residing Executive Committee are proposing the following interim structure for a period of nine months:
As we are proposing an amended structure for a short period, we will be returning to nominations for the roles outlined above. We would welcome nominations from or for anyone who would be interested in using the opportunity to run for election, and of course, you can nominate yourself. Please ensure if you are nominating someone, you have checked that they would be happy to run!
Being part of a team of Deputy Chairs for a period of nine months will provide a unique opportunity to learn more about life in the Executive Committee and consider whether contributing to IPT UK in the longer term is for you.
